New laptop
I'm back! I know, been gone for ages - I know there has to be at least one person out there who missed me.
I am happy to report that I finally convinced my husband that a laptop was essential for me, so I got one last weekend. (Of course it may have been his guilt for buying several expensive tools as his father's day gift, but who am I to question?)
Took Conner to Izzy's tonight for some ice cream. I asked what flavor he wanted and he said "pink". There were several pink choices and we ended up with Strawberry. I didn't think the one with alcohol in it would be the best choice and I really couldn't bring myself to get Bubble Gum. Disgusting! Note to Scooter - they have an Oatmeal Stout currently - have you tried that? Anyway, luckily I made the strawberry our "Izzy" because Conner took one bite & declared it "icky". He took several bites of the chocolate I had chosen and that was it - the rest was for me. It's so tough being a mom.....
The highlight was going a few stores down to the train shop - they have 4 train tables set up in the back and it appears they are there for kids to enjoy. There are two benches for the weary adults to sit and rest while their kids play and they even have a room for birthday parties. I never realized those train sets were so expensive! I thought of buying him a little something from there, but decided against it when I found the cheapest set was over $100. We'll let grandma/grandpa or Auntie Joyce & Uncle Kent spoil him with that someday! :-)

Since Aunie Joyce had to wait until she was in her 20's before she got her train set, we will see that Conner doesn't have to wait that long! As I child, I wanted a train set but I didn't get one because "trains are for boys". Mom & Poppo surprised me with it when I was living in AZ. I came home from work one day & there was this new train set chugging around my livingroom.

I have had the guiness ice cream at izzys and it was yummy--especially not being a HUGE guiness fan...it's a one-time-per-year type of beer.
I was just reading on a parent website that that train store has story hour on the weekends...it's on our list of things to do sometime.
