Jackson Street Roundhouse - Collin Only

Last Saturday, Dan & I took Collin to the Jackson Street Roundhouse while Conner was at his theater class. We had free tickets from our last trip at xmas time. I was happy to see that it was busy - plenty of folks there and a birthday party as well. Dan had fun talking with the older gentlemen who volunteer there - he helped one guy fix one of the projectors (which was seriously the size of a Honda Civic it was so old!). That volunteer told someone else that Dan had helped him and so Dan was immediately labelled as being "handy" and the chase was on to convince him he should volunteer. Since the average age of the other volunteers appeared to be about 70, I'm thinking they have trouble getting on top of and under the engines to do maintenace these days. I encouraged him to do so, I think he would enjoy it - we'll see!

Collin is driving the train!

Not sure what this does, but it's fun. We were not allowed in this "booth" while he was driving.

Hey - where is the coal?

I can drive this thing!

Another place the boys would love is called "The Works" on the third floor of the Edina Community Center. They can ride in a "hovercraft" and do other fun activities involving engineering. One of my friends just had her grandchildren there. Sandra
