Dan's birthday II

Scooter from A Nod to Nothing decided on a very irritating gift for Dan this year. He ran into a blog posting where someone made an enormous bacon sandwich - I believe it was 1 pound or more of bacon. So, knowing Dan has a weakness for bacon, Scott gave him 3 (or was it 4) pounds of bacon, a packet of pre-cooked bacon, a loaf of Wonder Bread, 2 beers, anda ring sausage (not entirely sure what that was about). LissyJo - are you feeling sick just reading this???

Today, Dan took on the challenge -and although I think he probably could have eaten 2 pounds, he stayed around 1 pound. You'll notice from the pictures that he ignored the bread, added an egg and some lettuce as a garnish. I asked if he ate the lettuce later and he laughed at me.

Dan's birthday

My husband's birthday is Feb. 14th- Valentine's day. Since it's such a crazy night at restaurants, we usually wait to go out on another night. Scooter and Pooteeweet were night enough to watch Conner so we could actually have a dinner alone and not have to inhale our food - just in case the 2 year old got antsy.

My parents sent him a shirt with gift certificates for Black Forest Inn - cool! Initially, my mom had purchased a medium shirt, but I told her to get a large. Even though he's not tall, Dan has a broad chest and shoulders, so larges always fit better. Before you see the picture and doubt my logic, Dan agreed with me that he does usually wear a large.....




Can we bring it AZ and return it there? Mom?
